One Jacket. Eleven Months Of Minutes.
In February, Sister Amoy Beckford submitted a written request to the Elders' Council of her local house asking whether her olive field jacket might be removed indoors during the drumming. The request was received, read aloud, and referred to the Hall Use Subcommittee, which meets when the hall is free. The hall has not been free. Three sets of minutes exist and two of them disagree about whether the matter was tabled or deferred. Sister Amoy attends every gathering in the jacket. Your donation funds the administration of this question and nothing else. The jacket remains on. It has always remained on.
“They asked me to put it in writing. I put it in writing. That was February.”— Sister Amoy Beckford
